The 2019 Summer Interns at Infoverity’s global headquarters in Dublin, OH have wrapped up the Second Annual Infoverity Summer Intern Service Project, collecting 1281 articles of clothing in a 7 week project to benefit The Open Shelter, an Advocacy Center & Day Services Shelter for homeless and marginally housed people in Central Ohio.

The interns were asked to collaborate on a service project that would benefit the community. The charity, terms, and project execution were up to them.  They created a competition among Infoverity’s different practices, with top contributing practices winning a donation to the charity of their choice.  Each week had a different theme, and items following that theme were worth double points. The interns in Infoverity’s Operational Services Group built an internal website using a node.js JavaScript framework. The website was updated in real time according to modifications made on the tracking sheet, using a Google API. The website was integral to the competitive aspect of the drive and the live updates were a great motivator.

The two practices with the highest contributions donated their winnings to the charity of their choice:

  • 1st place: Corporate  – $400 prize donated to The Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund
  • 2nd place: Product Solutions Group  – $100 prize donated to The Open Shelter

Lisa Corbett was the top contributor from Corporate and Dominic Spain was the top contributor from the Product Solutions Group.
